Kara and Maggie met at the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina
where they discovered that they both made artwork with many overlapping
ideas, and both lived in Madison, WI. It was there that they decided to
collaborate on their first show, the Museum of Material Culture, which opened
at the Commonwealth Gallery in March of 2009. The Mobile Museum is a
continuation of this collaboration.
Maggie Sasso
Sasso is currently a graduate student at UW-Madison in the 3-D area of the art department. Sasso is a Teaching Assistant for the 2009-2010 academic year, was the Woodshop Technician for the 2008-2009 academic year, and recieved a Fellowship for the 2007-2008 academic year. She originally hails from Murray, KY, and recieved her BFA from Murray State University. Sasso has been a returning artist at the Emma Collaboration in Saskatoon, Canada, has attended the Penland School of Craft as a metalsmithing teaching assistant for Charles Pinckney, and attended the Anderson Ranch Art Center on scholarship. Sasso was also the pioneering Student Representative on the Board of Trustees for the Furniture Society.

Kara Ginther
Ginther is a graduate of UW-Madison where she received her Bachelor of Science in Textile Design in 2007. Ginther is making waves in the bicycle community with her carved leather saddles, and is also designing a line of leather art and accessories. Ginther was a design assistant for artist Jennifer Angus, and is currently a design assistant for Christina Ruhaak. She taught Print & Dye at UW-Madison in the Spring of 2009, and was a teaching assistant at the Penland School of Craft, summer of 2008.
